Appointments  Apwyntiadau

The doctors see patients via open access surgeries. This is an unusual but popular system.

The nurses and attached staff see patients via appointments.

Doctor Open Access Surgeries
Patients do not have to make a pre arranged appointment to see their doctor. Just turn up on the days when your doctor is available during surgery times: mornings 9 - 10am , afternoons 4 - 6pm. For the system to work, patients are allocated a treating doctor on registration. It is important that you do attend when your treating doctor is available. This not only maintains the system but also good continuity of care.
If your GP is unavailable and your condition warrants an immediate consultation you will be seen by one of the other doctors holding surgery at that time. Although this system has the potential for abuse, the vast majority of patients use it well, and this is reflected in the low call out rate for home and out of hours visits.

Individual doctors may make arrangements to see patients with particular needs outside of open access times.

Nurse Appointments
Many patients with chronic conditions are seen by appointment through nursing staff. Appointments are made through reception or directly via the nurses and doctors.
